Acoustic Surveillance and Testing Ltd is a multi discipline consultancy that professional technical testing and analysis services to domestic and commercial clients worldwide.

The company has two main areas of expertise: acoustic consultancy and electronics counter surveillance (security sweeps).

Acoustic Consultants

The acoustic consultancy division provides services to commercial and domestic clients based in the UK and overseas. These clients include architects, surveyors, structural engineers and project managers for a variety of projects which range in size. The work our acoustic consultants undertake can be anything from sound testing to recording studio design.

All our acoustic consultants are highly experienced and receive continuous external and in-house training to keep their skills in this ever changing industry sharp and up to date.

The division is split into an acoustic design team and a Testing and Investigation Unit, which work very closely together to provide an excellent level of service to our clients.

Acoustic Design Team

The acoustic design team provides detailed CAD designs for numerous projects including: recording studio design, music rooms for education establishments such as schools and sound proofing designs for new builds and conversions to meet Part ‘E’ of the national policy for building regulations.

Our specialist acoustic consultants and designers utilise world-recognised professional acoustic software which includes the likes of AutoCAD, Odeon, Dirac and Insul.

To make sure we always stay on top of our game, we also have an ongoing system of analysing the results from our sound testing, which provides invaluable research into how well various products work as well as providing valuable feedback for our design performance.

Recording Studio Design

Acoustic Surveillance and Testing Ltd specialises in providing high quality sound insulation, recording studio design and audio visual for home cinema rooms.

Our recording studio design is well regarded as being amongst the best in the UK and Europe. Our acoustic consultants can coordinate your whole project design from start to finish.

Testing and Investigations Unit

The Testing and Investigation Unit provide comprehensive field testing and assessments for our clients.

Our work can include anything from pre-completion sound testing or air leakage testing to noise surveys.

We are a UKAS-accredited organisation for sound insulation testing, while our air tightness testing staff are all BINDT registered. Our technical staff are full members of the IOA (Institute of Acoustics).

Sound Testing

We are a UKAS-accredited sound testing laboratory. Due to our vast experience in acoustic design and sound testing, we have generated a wide range of data that allows us to determine the best performance of sound proof products.

Noise Surveys

Our noise surveys are of particular interest to developers, architects and planning consultants. These noise surveys provide you with a comprehensive report that assesses the NEC (Noise Exposure Category) of the site.

Electronics Counter Surveillance and Security Sweeps

This specialist division is known as COSEC International. COSEC International provides specialist international Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), which are sometimes known as electronics counter surveillance, security sweeps or debugging, for corporate and private clients who may be under threat from electronic surveillance.

The team has the latest advanced professional passive and electronics counter surveillance equipment to search for and locate surveillance devices, or 'bugs'.

The security sweeps include searching for and locating infrared (IR), video, burst, encrypted, spread spectrum and frequency hopping transmitters. This covers all serious professional bugs and not just ‘domestic’ transmitters that can be purchased anywhere.
